It started in 1987 when a woman showed up to run in a red dress, and she was told to wait in the truck. But she ran anyway. Now it happens all over the world with thousands dressing in red and raising money for local charities. It's loud, it's ridiculous, and New Orleans wouldn't have it any other way.
