Memphis Eats, Local Legends by Atmosphi, Part 14, Memphis Date Night. Sidecar Cafe on Witten Road. You might go for the live music, but the kitchen is serious. The move is the French dip, more dive bar than restaurant. Magnolia in May, out on Mount Moriah, found this one on Atmosfy. Looks like a quiet neighborhood spot from the outside. Inside, it's serious. Do not skip the grilled meat board. Upscale, but feels like home. Osaka on Poplar Avenue, this place is an institution for a reason. The menu is huge. Start with a bento box. Classic spot, no pretense. King & Union Bar Grocery, right on Union Avenue. Sometimes date night isn't about white tablecloths. Sometimes it's this, get the chicken and waffles.
